Emmerdale has aired a sneak peak of the moment Mackenzie Boyd shares the heartbreaking news of a death on the ITV soap next week.
Ryan Stocks receives the devastating news and soon confides in Mackenzie.
He is left feeling hurt when his mum Charity Dingle rejects his grief-stricken calls and he turns to Mack in his time of need.
Ryan is informed his adoptive mother Irene Stocks has sadly died, while details have yet to be confirmed to viewers.
Charity is busy at a playdate with her Vanessa Woodfield - the pair getting close again has put strain on her romance with Mack, who fears he could lose Charity to her ex.
When Charity also rejects Mack's call after news of the death reaches him, he urges Ryan to tell his mum what has happened.
However, the Emmerdale teaser now shows the moment Mack blurts out the news himself to Charity.
Charity approaches Ryan and Mack, berating them for not answering their phones, saying: “You're like kids the pair of you - in fact you're worse than kids.”
Ryan is angered by her attitude and gets in his car to drive off, leaving Charity and Mack at the side of the road.
Mack says: “Charity. Stop, stop. For once in your life shut up. It happened suddenly. Irene died.”
Charity is shocked and says: “No! Irene? Oh no. She was so lovely as well.”
Charity is hurt to realise she has upset both the men in her life, with Mack later hitting the bottle as he struggles to cope with the drama, as Emmerdale spoilers revealed.
Mack then puts his foot in it when he later sees Charity with Vanessa again.
He confides in Dawn Taylor, telling all about Vanessa, Irene and their ongoing relationship woes.
When he sees Charity stood with Vanessa, who clocks him with Dawn, he tries to make her jealous and lunges at Dawn for a kiss.
Charity is horrified as she has just heard Vanessa encourage her to fix things with Mack.
Charity declares she and 'cheating' Mack are now over - and to make matters worse, Billy Fletcher is equally furious with Mack when he finds out he kissed his fiancée Dawn.
Vanessa later tells Mack that Charity was on her way to apologise to him for recent events before he kissed Dawn.
But will the pair manage to get back on track, or is it over for them for good?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
