Emmerdale actor Max Parker has announced that he's engaged to his former on-screen brother Kris Mochrie.
Max, who played Luke Posner in the ITV soap from 2019 until 2021, got down on one knee in front of Kris an incredibly romantic proposal by the beach.
Dubbing the "happiest moment of [his life], Max shared a series of adorable photos of the couple celebrating their engagement and a video of the moment itself.
Kris, who played rapist Lee Posner in Emmerdale in 2019, also posted pictures of the moment to Instagram and hailed Max a "beautiful soul".
He went on to say that he "loved him beyond words" and that he had "no idea" that the proposal has been coming.
Max had captioned his engagement announcement: "He deserves the world, but the best I could do was promise him my heart. HE SAID YES! Happiest moment of my life. @krismoc my Fiancé."
While Kris wrote: "The beautiful soul that is my best friend asked me to marry him yesterday. I can’t begin to describe how happy I am.
"I love him beyond words, we laugh every single day and I’m so so grateful that he came in to my life.
"I had no idea at all! But it was just perfect… I mean this film says it all. Max had asked my Mum for any jewellery that my Gran had. Mum still had my Grans locket and he has had it made in to the middle of the engagement ring on the inside. So so special.
"Thank you to the job that brought us together, our incredible family and friends. And the amazing love from you all. I’m a very lucky boy.
"WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!"
The couple first met on set in 2019 while filming Victoria's harrowing rape storyline, which the pair were both involved in.
Despite being brothers, neither of their characters were ever on screen at the same time, with Kris' character Lee being killed off by Victoria's brother Robert before Max's Luke was introduced.
Luke appeared in the ITV soap for two years and dated Victoria before leaving the Dales in 2021.
Speculation surrounded the smitten pair for months prior to their official announcement, but both Max and Kris denied any romance rumours until they decided the time was right.
In September 2020, the on-screen brothers turned lovers went Instagram official while on a romantic getaway together.
At the time, an excited Max filmed himself and Kris cosying up to one another on the plane prior to take-off.
Max and Kris are believed to have enjoyed a string of romantic dates before confirming their relationship after an ‘instantly connecting’ on the Emmerdale set.
“They met on Kris’ last day filming and just hit it off,” a source told The Sun at the time.
“They were cast as brothers and are really alike and have been joking that casting did a great job.
“The boys kept in touch after Kris finished on the show but they’ve spent a lot of time together over summer.”
