Emmerdale star Louise Jameson has revealed all on returning to the ITV soap for the first time in nearly 50 years.
Louise will play Rhona Goskirk's mother Mary from next month, but this isn't the first time the former Doctor Who and EastEnders actress has been on the show.
In fact, her last stint on the soap was historical with her playing teenager Sharon Crossthwaite, the cousin of Annie Sugden, and daughter to Beryl and Ronnie Crossthwaite.
Sharon met a gruesome fate in 1973 when she was raped and murdered by Jim Latimer.
The minor character was the first ever character to be murdered on the ITV soap, something actress Louise joked was her claim to fame.
Now the actress is back after nearly five decades, but this time in a brand new role.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Louise discussed her past role on the show while ruling out a return for Sharon.
She explained: "She was a very sweet and innocent young girl. We can’t bring her back because she's dead, so I've come back as someone completely other!"
Louise confessed the village and the soap were completely different this time, to her original stint - including the fact the location had moved.
The soap was still known as Emmerdale Farm then too before changing to Emmerdale over 10 years later in 1989.
Revealing she was still getting used to the fast pace of filming at the new set, Louise told us: "Back on the Emmerdale set after 50 years, and of course they picked it up and transported it from where I was.
"There was a great generosity and spirit then, but this is an extraordinary machine. I feel like I have jumped on a very fast moving carousel.
"For the first 10 days I felt like I was slightly catching my breath because there's three machines moving at any one time.
"There's a group of 60 actors including everyone behind the camera, and a big machine that keeps everything working. The welcome was extraordinary, it was really lovely. I have felt welcomed into a family."
Speaking about her new role last month, Louise, 70, said: "It feels like such a gift to be welcomed into the Emmerdale cast. I’m so bloomin’ thrilled by the opportunity."
Of the role and what fans can expect, Emmerdale teased at the time: "No nonsense Mary has a strained relationship with her daughter who has always felt she was never good enough for her mother.
"Though Mary will prove a hit with everyone she meets in the village, will she be able to repair her broken relationship with Rhona?
"Can they put the past behind them and begin to cherish the fact they are mother and daughter?"
