Emmerdale star Katie Hill calls for return of two characters as she teases Faith scenes

Emmerdale actress Katie Hill has said she would love to see two characters return to the village.

Katie, who plays Sarah Sugden, is the daughter of Andy Sugden and Debbie Dingle. Mum Debbie currently lives in Scotland with her brother Jack and Andy has been on the run for six years after being framed for attempted murder.

Actors Charley Webb and Kelvin Fletcher have both quit the show, but actress Katie said she would love to see them return one day. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the British Soap Awards 2022, Katie also teased some "big" moments ahead.

When asked about Debbie and Andy, she said: "Yeah, I think it would be lovely. Sarah and Debbie had such a nice relationship.

"Charley [Webb] is amazing, I loved working with her. If in the future the both of them decided to come back it would be really nice I think."

The 19-year-old, who is from Leeds, also joke about never working alongside Isabel Hodgins who plays Victoria Sudgen her on-screen aunt. She said: "They never have scenes together, I thought the exact same thing! Even though she is a Sudgen she doesn't mix with them."

Katie also said she would love to work more with Sam Hall who portrays Samson Dingle. "I used to film with Samson quite a lot and they had a nice relationship, but then they dropped that," she said.

"I think it would be nice to work with him a bit more, and like you said all of the younger cast are sort of coming together more, which is nice."

While she remained tight-lipped around upcoming episodes, Katie hinted at some emotional moments ahead as well as the 50th anniversary episodes.

She said: "It's very big. There is a lot going on and that is all I can say. It will be one of its peak moments."

The actress also discussed Faith Dingle's cancer storyline, ahead of the truth being revealed to her family this week and said she was "dreading" watching it.

"It will really affect her and it's gonna be really sad," said Katie. "I am dreading watching it all but Sally [Dexter] is amazing, and she is going to smash the storyline.

"I have got some nice stuff coming up with Faith, so I've been doing a few scenes with her. I think Sarah is just finding herself at the moment.

"She is going to finish college this year so we will have to see what comes for her when she finishes school, and where she will work and all that!"
