Will Ash has teased Caleb Miligan could die in Emmerdale in shocking scenes on the ITV soap.
Caleb is pushed off a cliff this week by an as yet unknown assailant, with his life left hanging in the balance. He is rushed to hospital, still alive but barely - and actor Will Ash has revealed Caleb could pass away in the coming scenes.
He joined the ITV soap on Christmas Day last year as Cain and Chas Dingle's long lost brother. However, he was harbouring another big secret, and was actually Frank Tate's secret son, desperate to bring Kim Tate down and take all her money.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, when asked how he feels about potentially leaving the show, he said: "He's a great character to play. There's so much going on with him, so much amazing backstory he can tap into that motivates all these storylines that he's had. The writers have really written brilliantly for it. I've had an amazing time.
"It's people who've been doing this a long time, you kind of tip your hat off to those actors and actresses because it’s kind of tough. It's not like doing other jobs where you get time off in the week and there's not as much dialogue to learn. It's very, very intense and if you've got busy storyline, you're working weekends, certainly I am anyway, just trying to learn lines."
He added: "Some actors will come in and, Dean Andrews for one, will come in and can learn the lines on the day and be brilliant. I just can't do that. So I need kind of quite a lot of preparation. It's quite tough that but I've enjoyed the challenge of trying to be good in something that's so fast moving. I've had a great time. I've been written for nice. It's been lovely."
Will revealed he is regularly confronted by soap fans about his character's master plan - and what might happen in the future.
"Supermarkets are the place where I have been, I don't go out anywhere else. Only go to supermarkets and petrol stations. That's where people have been kind of lovely. They've said, I don't like your character," he said.
"I had a woman the other day going, oh you're being really awful to Moira, what are you doing to Moira in a nice way. I suppose it's been kind of positive and people are engaging with it and are enjoying it."
He added: "I don’t go on social media, so I don't know what the reaction's been like on there. I imagine it's slightly different because people just can be quite brutal on there. That's why I don't go on. It's been nothing but nice really. It tends to be, if you’re face to face with people, people are nice, even if you're playing someone quite complicated."
