Emmerdale star Charley Webb reunites with co-star – as snap detail hints at Debbie return

Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb has sparked rumours that she could make a possible return to the Dales after she shared a reunion snap with one of her ex co-stars.

The 34-year-old saddened fans earlier this year when she officially confirmed she would not be returning to her character of Debbie Dingle on the ITV soap after a stint of 19 years in the village.

However, the actress has now shared a snap with fellow Emmerdale star Roxy Shahidi, who plays Leyla Harding on the ITV drama.

In the photo Roxy can be seen wearing an ITV lanyard, suggesting the pair were meeting on set of the show and teasing the possibility of a surprise return for Charley’s character Debbie.

Charley wrote: “Car chats. Can't stay next to that face for long, not even brushed my eyebrows.”

At the start of this year Charley confirmed her decision to leave Emmerdale as she shared a statement with fans on social media.

Over the top of a picture of her, husband Matthew and their three children, she wrote: "This is always my most asked question but I've never answered it before because I've never wanted to make a big deal of it.

"I left to have Ace 2 years ago. I went back at the end of last year for 10 weeks to complete a storyline.

"So, I guess officially it's been a year. I never felt the need to announce it which is why we didn't."

It has been reported that her decision to depart Emmerdale came after her husband Matthew Wolfenden and their co-star Isabel Hodgins were reportedly caught up in a race row on the ITV soap, which reportedly "fuelled Charley's decision to step away".

Yet months later, Charley announced she would be returning to television for a new project after she exited the ITV soap.

She announced two new projects she was filming over the summer after her Emmerdale exit.

Taking to Instagram, Charley said she was "excited" to be back on screen and shared a picture of herself at a costume fitting.

Sharing an excited mirror selfie, the former soap star wrote: "Costume fitting today for my new job. I'm excited for the next 2 projects I'm filming over the summer and to get back on screen."

Charley's former co-stars and celebrity pals were quick to comment on the post as they shared their excitement, with her Hollyoaks star sibling Jamie Lomas writing: "Yes babe x," followed with a heart and clap emoji.

Emmerdale's Victoria Sugden star Isabel Hodgins commented: "So exciting xxx", while Michelle Keegan added: "Yaaaaay! Go on gurl" followed with clapping emojis.
