Emmerdale star Alexander Lincoln's exciting movie role after quitting ITV soap as Jamie Tate

Former Emmerdale star Alexander Lincoln has landed a new movie role after quitting the ITV soap.

The actor starred on the popular soap playing the role of Jamie Tate - the son to manipulative soap queen Kim Tate and her husband Frank.

And from the get-go he was involved in a drama-filled storyline. When he was born, there was doubt over who his dad was, because Kim had an affair with Dave Glover.

After dramatic face-offs Kim and Jamie left Emmerdale however Jamie returned in 2019.

The star has since left the soap again in a dramatic exit as he drove his car recklessly out of town and accidentally drove off a cliff edge into a lake.

When the police dredged the water, they found the car, but no sign of Jamie’s body.

For weeks everyone, except Kim, believed he was dead and Kim was right as he was in fact still alive and had faked his own death.

Since leaving the star soap the star has plenty to keep him busy as he’s bagged the leading role in ‘In From the Side’.

The film will premiere at the British Film Institute’s BFI Flare film festival next month.

Alexander will play the role of Mark, a rugby player on a gay team who embarks on a six-month affair with another player behind their partners’ backs.

However, the movie was actually filmed before Alexander joined Emmerdale in 2019 - and has been in post-production ever since.

It has already been selected as one of the must-watch films for the LGBT film festival.

Since Alexander’s character Jamie Tate faked his death to escape his mother Kim’s influence, The Sun recently revealed how Kim will soon discover the truth about Jamie’s fake death.

However, It is not yet known if Jamie will return to the village.
