Emmerdale’s Naomi Walters is left shocked next week as the residents of the village on the Dales turn on her in the wake of Nicola King’s attack on the ITV soap.
Nicola endured a traumatic attack earlier this year, as a gang of girls taunted her in a car park before brutally beating her up.
Nicola King was left shocked when she realised that newcomer Naomi Walters may have been involved in her attack.
Naomi has been keen to secure a job – as she continues to settle into the Emmerdale village following her recent arrival as Charles Anderson's long-lost daughter – and was pleased when Amelia Spencer gave her some advice on how to win Brenda Walker over.
But Nicola was then spooked when she recognised Naomi's voice and trainers from the day of the attack – realising that Naomi may have been involved in the incident.
ITV spoilers have now revealed that next week on the soap, Nicola is left close to tears when Harriet tells her they don’t have enough to prosecute Naomi, who still hasn’t come clean about her involvement.
Frustrated and determined to see those who attacked her come to justice, Nicola decides to take matters into her own hands.
Charles is stunned when Nicola then chastises him for his daughter’s actions and is then left even more horrified by Nicola’s threat to end both his and Manpreet’s career.
Nicola then turns her attention to Naomi herself, confronting the Emmerdale newcomer and demanding she tell the truth.
A seething Nicola berates Charles for siding with Naomi, leaving him uneasy at the thought of Nicola’s planned retribution.
Naomi is then guilty when an angry Nate confronts her about Nicola’s attack and her lies.
Nate is resistant when Naomi pleads with him to see the real her, leaving her upset when he then abruptly ends things between them.
Later, Nate worries he’s been too harsh on Naomi. When Rodney chastises Ethan for supporting Naomi, he feels terrible for struggling Nicola.
As her PTSD re-emerges, can he convince Naomi to do the right thing and come forward to the police?
Karene Peter, who plays Naomi, opened up about the moment her character realised Nicola could have been one of her attackers.
She said: “It's a big shock for Naomi when she realises who Nicola is – and for Nicola it's definitely a blast from the past, for sure.
“In that moment, Naomi doesn't even remember Nicola. She has blocked it out, because the attack is something that was very horrific. It wasn't anything that Naomi expected and it happened so fast.
“Naomi is suppressing that hideous memory and she has forgotten Nicola's face. She has tried to put it all behind her and start again.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
