Emmerdale's Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) has not had the best of starts to 2022.
Fans of the popular ITV show will know that he entered the year discovering that his estranged wife, Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) was in a critical condition following being kept hostage by her sister Meena (Paige Sandhu) and unintentionally being run over by her love interest, Charles (Kevin Mathurin).
Rishi has also had to keep an eye on his daughter Priya (Fiona Wade) who is recovering from burns from the maize maze fire.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like things will get much better for him as Emmerdale spoilers tease that Rishi may even die in upcoming scenes.

Upcoming episodes of Emmerdale will see Kim Tate (Claire King) tell Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and her partner Jai (Chris Bisson) that they must exit the home they rent off of her.
However, Jai plans to get his family out of the mess as he tries to liaise with Kim to opt to sell Brook Cottage instead.
This is where Bernice (Samantha Giles) lives and when Gabby (Rosie Bentham) finds out about this plan, it leaves her angry.
Determined to not be evicted by Kim, Jai and Laurel make plans to buy the house off of their landlord.
Scheming away, businessman Jai does this by encouraging his dad Rishi and sister Priya to sell their home so that he and his partner can get some of the cash to buy the property from Kim.
However, his father and sister are left confused by Jai’s suggestion. It doesn’t take long for Bernice to also join in and have a go at what Jai is planning.
All of this tension ends up building upon Rishi, causing him to collapse.
The father of three is then rushed to the hospital.
Jai knows that his father is in a health-risk situation and also knows that he has some inheritance money put away for his three children.
With Jai desperately gasping for money, and a history of scheming and turning against others for profit, will he end his own father’s life as a way to get hold of his share of the inheritance money?
