Kim’s exasperated with Jai when she sees her staff on the picket line outside the HOP and immediately demotes him until he resolves the situation. Jai refuses and defiantly joins the strike himself.

Laurel also arrives at Holdgate to tell Jai she wants to get properly back together after seeing the way he acted during the strike and he ends up feeling on top of the world. Later, Jai realises his wallet is missing and he and Laurel return to Take A Vow to search for it.

However, when they find it down the back of a chair, they’re shocked to discover a tiny bag of drugs. Both Priya and Laurel accuse him of owning the drugs as a confused Jai struggles to find an explanation. Assuming this is an admittance of guilt, Laurel explodes with rage.

As Ethan and Marcus begin moving in together, Ethan begs Charles not to wind Marcus up. At the police station, Ethan meets Jordan who’s been arrested on suspicion of assault. Determined to do a good job Ethan takes the case. But after having interviewed his client Ethan’s startled to see the CCTV image of Jordan’s victim.

Meanwhile in the hospital room, we see a beaten up Billy has sustained serious injuries and it becomes clear he is Jordan’s victim. Over in the police station, Ethan declares although he knows Billy, there’s no conflict of interest but suggests to Jordan that he may prefer to seek alternative representation.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, a broken Billy tells Dawn the attack was racially aggravated. Will and Dawn are certain that justice will prevail but Billy isn’t so sure. Bumping into each other at the police station, Harriet encourages Ethan to withdraw from the case, warning how difficult this case will make his personal relationships.
