Emmerdale spoilers for next week: New Woolpack owner, Ellis 'exit' and return horror

Emmerdale airs plenty of drama next week, with more than one villager making a discovery of some sort on the ITV soap.

There's hints of a departure, as a new arrival joins the show - leading to a revelation about a past village villain.

There is also big change, with The Woolpack set for a mystery new owner.

The return of another character leaves Dawn Taylor panicked ahead of her wedding day to Billy Fletcher too.

It's a week of change, decisions and possible heartache on the show next week, so here is what fans can expect to see unfold...

Rhona learns news about evil Pierce, and new arrival

Emmerdale airs plenty of drama next week (ITV)

Emmerdale's Zoe Henry says Rhona Goskirk will be left "terrified" as her ex Pierce makes a shock return to the ITV soap.

He's set to make a surprise return to the show as he gets in contact via a letter to deliver some terrible news to Rhona.

From prison, Pierce tells Rhona he is dying and he needs her help - to locate his long lost son Marcus.

Now, Zoe has teased that the arrival of the letter leaves her "terrified" as he re-enters her life.

"I think a lot of ways, he's dead to her already. He's in prison, he no longer poses a threat specially after the last time he appeared and killed Graham and caused havoc in the village," she told The Mirror and other press.

"She is a compassionate woman and anyone being ill and dying is terribly sad but I think for herself she's managed to put him in a box in her head and compartmentalise him, he doesn't affect her anymore - except he does because when the letter lands, it terrifies her. I don't think she feels sad, I think she feels nothing actually."

Dawn in turmoil

Dawn is looking forward to her upcoming wedding to Billy Fletcher but it's been revealed that a familiar face arriving back in the village ruins her excitement.

Busy setting a date and putting plans in place, Harriet Finch is moved when Dawn (Olivia Bromley) tells her she wants her to be her maid of honour, but they still need to find a venue.

Alex pleads with her to let him explain his previous actions (ITV)

Dawn is thrilled when Kim Tate offers Home Farm for her big day, as she's now in a proper relationship with Dawn's father Will.

However, the bride-to-be's excitement is halted by the return of her ex Alex who pleads with her to let him explain his previous actions.

What exactly does he want from Dawn? And does evil serial killer Meena Jutla have something to do with his return?

Ellis to leave?

It's reported Emmerdale's Ellis Chapman actor Aaron Anthony has quit the ITV soap (ITV)

Emmerdale may have teased Ellis Chapman's possible exit storyline from the ITV soap, after recent claims actor Aaron Anthony quit the show last year.

Aaron reportedly quit the show after bosses launched a race probe against two of its biggest stars.

Insiders claimed that Aaron was so furious about the alleged behaviour against one of his cast members that he decided to leave.

New spoilers tease the moment Ellis receives huge and unexpected news, and is forced to make a big decision amid his blossoming romance with Belle Dingle.

Details remain small about the new plot and what it means, while Emmerdale has yet to confirm Aaron is leaving the role of Ellis after joining in 2019.

Spoilers only state that he is left with a big decision to make after an unexpected phone call.

Perhaps the decision regards his romance with Belle, so could the call be from his ex Priya Sharma?

New The Woolpack owner

Emmerdale's Chas Dingle will be left feeling fearful as The Woolpack goes up for auction (ITV)

Emmerdale's Chas Dingle will be left feeling fearful as The Woolpack goes up for auction.

The pub was ruined in a horrifying Christmas Day explosion, and as the insurance failed to pay out for the damage and the deal with Al fell through, Chas and Marlon Dingle have been left with no other choice but to turn to auction to raise the money.

The pair had been hoping to sell the pub to Al but investor Gavin pulled out, leaving him with not enough capital to purchase it.

It means that The Woolpack will end up with a brand new owner - but who will it be?

In scenes airing next week, Kim Tate appears to take an interest in buying The Woolpack, as she's seen flicking through the auction catalogue as she looks for possible new business ventures.

As auction day comes, Chas considers not going as she doesn't want to see Kim snatch the pub, leaving Paddy devastated for his wife as she struggles with the news. However, Charity manages to convince her to go by hitting a nerve and Paddy is thrilled to see his other half determined not to go down without a fight.

After the auction, Marlon and Chas are left wondering who the new owner might be, as Faith tries to find out and get the name from the auctioneer. She fails to get the name but she is told the new owner wants to meet Marlon and Chas in person.

Chas is feeling fearful as she prepares for the meeting - but who is the mystery online bidder and now the owner of The Woolpack?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
