Emmerdale resident Chas Dingle could finally see her affair with Al Chapman exposed on the ITV soap next week, new spoilers have revealed.
While Al is now dead and buried, the secrets behind his last few months alive continue to haunt the village as Chas desperately tries to conceal that they were having an affair.
However, the secret has been gradually creeping out after Kerry’s daughter Chloe came across damning evidence of his double life with liaisons at the Yellow Albatross Hotel.
Kerry initially scoffed at the idea Al was cheating on her, but eventually came around when Chloe showed her the hotel receipts and explained Al had secretly bought a house.
"The estate agent said Al bought the house because Al said the garden was perfect for his partner's kid," Chloe explained.
Meanwhile, Chas has been struggling to cope with her grief at the loss of Al while under husband Paddy’s nose – and things could now come tumbling out.
ITV spoilers have revealed that Chas is next week left emotional when she finds some of her late mum Faith’s old possessions.
Supported by Paddy, Chas is grateful for her family as she and Eve together decorate the Christmas tree.
In later scenes, a family dinner with Rhona and Marlon leaves Chas more in love and grateful for Paddy and Eve than ever before.
The married couple then spend a loved-up afternoon together, which leaves Chas now finally ready to put Al in the past and appreciate her family.
Things seem to be going from strength to strength when a besotted Paddy surprises Chas with a gift.
Grateful for his endless support, Chas is left privately ashamed she nearly left him and set on their future together.
However, things are taking a turn elsewhere in the village, as Chloe tells Belle that Al took someone out to dinner the night Faith died – when the penny drops for Belle, as she realises Chas never actually ended her affair with Al.
Later, Belle confronts Chas about being at Westgrove Hall Hotel with Al the night Faith died.
Chas is cornered and unable to deny the affair any longer, prompting Belle to suggest this is why Cain killed Al.
Chas wonders whether to admit to believing this theory too and is left manic with fear, terrified Belle will tell the family.
Back in the pub, Chas is delighted to hear Paddy’s booked them a surprise getaway.
Meanwhile, Belle breaks down in front of Moira admitting what she knows, leaving Chas’ sister-in-law furious as she begins to put two and two together over Cain’s imprisonment and Al’s death.
The next day, Chas prepares for her trip away with Paddy. Relieved they are both getting away from it all… But are they?
