Emmerdale's Cain Dingle and Amy Wyatt are shocked this week as Kyle Winchester gets some huge news about his future.
Kyle killed businessman Al Chapman, with his father Cain taking the blame for it. Following a short prison stint for Cain, Kyle insisted he had to tell the police the truth and was supported by his family as he confessed to his crime.
Following his confession, and the help of a good lawyer paid for by Caleb, Kyle was let out on bail whilst they worked out what to do next - but as a condition of the bail, he was not allowed to see his father Cain.
Keen to break the rules, Cain was adamant he wanted to see his son but Amy insisted he needed to stay away. Reluctantly, he has agreed but still resents having to be away from his son.
This week, Matty tries but fails to hide his worries when Amy doubles down on her plans to go for sole custody of Kyle. He is unsure whether it's the best thing for Kyle but Amy presses on with her plans.
Kyle, meanwhile, is struggling in the run up to his hearing as mum Amy tries to stay strong for her son.
Cain feels helpless and forces is way into Keepers to see his son whilst Amy is fuming at his blatant disregard for Kyle's bail conditions. Caleb, seeing how much it means to both Cain and Kyle, quickly steps in and encourages Amy to let them have that moment.
However, the sweet moment is soon interrupted when Kyle's solicitor phones with big news - but what is it and what ramifications does it have for Kyle's future as well as for both Amy and Cain?
When Kyle confessed to what happened, he promised the police that he had proof.
"I killed someone, and I can prove it. I killed Al Chapman. I don't know what happened. I didn't mean to... to make it shoot. But there was this bang and he fell and I got blood on my jumper," he told the police in an interview room.
Moira was left stunned when Cain was arrested for the murder and then pleaded guilty to the crime.
"Moira is shocked to the core by Cain's confession. I think deep down she knew something wasn't quite right but she had no idea that Kyle had been involved in the shooting," actress Natalie J Robb said, "I think the audience will really sympathise with Moira's dilemma."
