Emmerdale’s Amelia Spencer has sparked concern on the ITV soap lately as the teen is impacted by social media.
Like many her age, ITV viewers have watched as Amelia, who is played by Daisy Campbell, has changed her behaviour under the influence of her apps in recent weeks.
In recent scenes, Amelia went to a party with Chloe (Jessie Elland), Noah (Jack Downham), Samson (Sam Hall) and Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling).
Wanting to impress her long-time crush Noah, Amelia dressed up, styled her hair, and extensively did her makeup.
But when Noah cruelly told her he was using her to make Chloe jealous, she was left devastated as he then twisted the knife, telling her no boy would go out with her – not even with a face full of makeup.
In other scenes on the ITV soap, Amelia has drastically changed her lifestyle as a result of ideas she’s seen from influencers online.
She recently told Dan ( Liam Fox ) that she has completely cut out carbs for breakfast and was left open-mouthed when she saw a social media influencer had clinched a huge deal with a sports brand as a result of her online presence.
As Amelia has continued to stay glued to her phone, Dan has been left concerned over how her excessive screen time is affecting her.
Worried about Amelia’s newfound interest in influencers, Dan expressed his concern to friends, as she began to pursue a career as an influencer.
ITV spoilers have now revealed that another Emmerdale character will grow concerned for the internet-obsessed teen.
The drama continues next week, when Amelia is left fuming when Kerry jokes about the amount of filters she is using on her photos for her social media account.
But the spoilers have teased that there could be something more worrying at the root of this.
What could it be? Are those closest to Ameilia heading for a difficult and stressful time if she bases her self-esteem on social media?
And if she does become an influencer, how will comments online impact her confidence?
Elsewhere on the soap next week, Marlon Dingle will finally return home on Emmerdale - but it won't be smooth sailing as daughter April struggles to adjust.
Last month, Marlon (Mark Charnock) suffered a debilitating stroke that saw him rushed to hospital.
Since then, it has been a long uphill battle for Marlon as he struggles with the new challenges he faces, including his difficulty in forming simple words.
Next week, Marlon gears up to finally return home and an excited April prepares decorations to welcome him back.
