Emmerdale 's Tom King is seen struggling with being back in the village on the ITV soap next week.
Spoilers confirm he refuses to open up to his family or lover Belle Dingle, as something from his past continues to haunt him.
Tom is still struggling with his grief for his villainous father Carl King, after his return to the village that Carl lived in.
Not only that, but it's where his dad was murdered in 2012 and next week he returns to the scene of the crime.
It's unclear if Tom knows the full truth about his dad's evil ways, while he has had grievances with other residents including Chas Dingle in the past where his father is concerned.
Next week there seems to be more to his turmoil though, and a moment with Jimmy leaves him rushing off.
After trying to get over the past and attempting to bond with his uncle, a mention of Carl leaves both of them upset.
At the scrapyard, there is an inadvertent mention of the late character and it causes his son to flee, clearly upset, while Jimmy is crushed over the moment.
But can Jimmy and Belle help Tom get through what happened in the past, or will it send Tom away once again?
It seems he won't be leaving just yet, as he and ex Belle are set to rekindle their relationship this summer according to soap boss Jane Hudson.
She told us: "Jimmy's nephew Tom will be coming back into the show and he has been living overseas for some time. He's back in England and is qualified as a vet, so I think we all know where he is gonna be working.
"Tom and Belle have a history, they see each other and rekindle things and we will be on a journey with Tom and Belle for some time as we play out stories for them."
When Tom was last in the village around 10 years ago, then known as Thomas, he was causing mayhem for several residents.
It was recently teased that Tom's return storyline would be "explosive", with fans yet to find out if he is as evil as his late father Carl.
Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: "Tom’s return is going to be explosive. He shocks his uncle Jimmy when he returns to the village and it’s not clear why he’s back.
"Fans will be glued to their screens watching Tom’s comeback unfold — and his presence could cause chaos. They will all be asking if he’s as evil as his dad Carl and wondering why he’s returned."
Newcomer James Chase has taken on the role, which was previously played by actor Mark Flanagan.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
