Ex Emmerdale star Ayden Callaghan said he "will not rule out" returning to our favourite soaps.
The 42-year-old actor is returning to his former home of Leeds tonight (June 12) for five back-to-back appearances in The Bodyguard. The dad-of-two, who lives in Lincolnshire, is starring as lead Frank in the popular show. Tonight he will perform at Leeds Grand Theatre in the city centre.
Ayden is best known for previously playing Miles De Souza - a character with depression and alcoholism - in Emmerdale and says he "hopes to see" some of his old co-stars tonight as some of the stars have previously come to support him. The former Hollyoaks star said: "I lived in Leeds when I did Emmerdale, so I am excited to return. Last time I was there some of the cast came down. The theatre is so beautiful."

While the role of Frank Farmer - a former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker - is quite different for Ayden, he confessed he is "loving it" after 12 years away from theatre performing. The star told Leeds Live he hopes to take on more major roles in theatre products but confessed that returning to TV soaps is an option that will not be ruled out.
Ayden said: "Theatre is where I started as an actor. It is the greatest pleasure and a challenge it is just you and that audience you get to take that character on. In Emmerdale you are just shooting scenes and very rarely is it in order.
"In soap world it is so open ended, and for most part you are just seeing what happens. You are just flying blind. But with theatre it is nice to tell the whole story."
He added: "I would never rule out a return to the soap world. Right now, I am not actively seeking to go back. I have a lot of opportunities but I am not at a point where I would turn stuff down."
