Emmerdale fans saw village bad boy Al Chapman killed off in Tuesday night's visit to the Dales after a dramatic bust up with Cain Dingle.
Al and Cain had been at each other's throats for months and when Cain found out Al had been sleeping with his sister, Chas Dingle, it all came to a head during a heated bust up which saw Al Chapman killed off in a brutal shooting. And while viewers might be glad to see the back of the love rat, there's one person who was devastated by his demise.
Actor Michael Wildman revealed that his mother Kate, who is a huge fan of the show, would be "crying like crazy". In an interview with our colleagues at The Mirror, the soap star said: "'My biggest thing now is picking up the pieces for Mum, as she is going to be crying like crazy. But I don't think many others are going to be gutted Al is dead.

Michael, who has bowed out of his role after three years, explained that he was aware of the shelf life of a villain in soaps. He said: "I wanted Al to go out with a bang, and last night he most definitely did." Michael went on to say even though it was the right time for him to go, he has found it difficult to say goodbye to Al.
Michael said: "'I've died three or four times with different characters I've played over the years. But the difference is this is a character who I have given life to for some time. Al is much dearer to me than other characters I've said goodbye to."
Emmerdale continues on Wednesday at 7:30pm on ITV.
