Emmerdale actor Mark Charnock has been left “overwhelmed” by the fan reaction after his character Marlon Dingle suffered a life-changing stroke during last night's episode.
The scene received thousands of comments and some fans even reached out to the actor after the “powerful” scene.
During the episode, happiness quickly turned into absolute horror for Marlon with his life suddenly about to change.

The day seemed to be off to a good start as both him and Rhona were overcome with excitement after their joint marriage proposal to each other.
It all took a turn for the worst when the chef went home for five minutes and while looking in the mirror he suddenly dropped to the floor.
Many Emmerdale fans praised the actor for his accurate portrayal, with people opening up about how a stroke has impacted their life, a friend, or families.

Mark was “moved” by the amount of reaction he received and went to Twitter and said: “It’s hard to know what to say to you all, other than I’m genuinely overwhelmed.
“Thank you for all your messages. It’s been so very moving to read.ALL credit is due to the astonishing #Emmerdale team,the @TheStrokeAssoc & the clinicians & survivors who’ve advised us.Thank you all.X”
This prompted fans to share their personal experiences under the comment section with @jo_jojocollins Tweeting: “You played it fantastically, I had a very good friend who had a severe stroke, I used to sit for hours with her using children's books, both reading & number, she used to get so frustrated at times, it was so hard but we got there she learned many things, I was so proud of her.”
@cazlisle wrote: My mam was lucky enough to be with me while I did a shift in a pub, when she had her stroke a Tia mini stroke. After watching your performance this evening both myself and my mam were in floods of tears, she's so lucky to be here.”
@donnakebabski99 commented: “You’re a great fella for doing what you did. And yes, the @emmerdale writers and researchers are incredible! But, a writer's work is only shown by how the actors were written to portray their character. Well done my son! Well done!!”
