Former Emmerdale star Kelli Hollis, who played the role of Ali Spencer, Amelia's mum, on the ITV soap, said part of her wished she could have been there when her on-screen daughter gave birth recently.
Actor Kelli Hollis first appeared in the Dales as Ali in October 2011 and last appeared in August 2015. She was the sister of Rachel Breckle and the mother of Sean and Amelia Spencer.
The family lived at Brook Cottage. Ali was also the former wife of Dan Spencer and later the lover of Ruby Haswell, until Ruby died in the helicopter crash in 2015.

Ali and Rachel moved to Liverpool in August 2015 and in April 2018, almost 3 years after she left the village, Ali was killed in a road accident in Liverpool when the soap made the decision to kill the character off.
In more recent times Kelli has taken a backseat to acting as she builds a new much quieter life for herself in Pattaya. Kelli and her partner, Martin, whom she met in Leeds, temporarily moved to Thailand back in April when Martin was offered a job that was expected to last no more than six months.
However, Kelli admitted that the recent teenage pregnancy storyline involving her on-screen daughter Amelia, played by Daisy Campbell, on the Yorkshire based soap made her "emotional" and part of her did "wish she could have been there."
Kelli told Leeds Live in an exclusive interview: "Foxy (Liam Fox) and Daisy (Campbell) keep me up in the loop, I speak to them all the time, we're really good friends.
"I'm not going to lie it was one of those when they were sending me pictures and then the scenes where Amelia gave the baby Allison as a middle name, there was a little bit of me that was like oh I wish I could have been there for that."
Speaking of Ali being killed off, Kelli said: "I genuinely didn't mind, the time I had there was so amazing and with the soap world that's just the kind of thing that happens, you go into it knowing it is often short lived. So I wasn't offended or anything like that, that's just how it goes."
The actor even teased a possible ghostly return: "Emmerdale was such a great job to work on, if they wanted to bring Ali back in ghost form in the shower then you know, obviously, I'm there."
Speaking of her plans for the future Kelli added: "I genuinely don't know, it's so crazy because I never even thought I'd be here doing what I'm doing now. I thought I'll go to Thailand for six months and then come home and then it's like anything else in life you just never know what it's going to bring. For the foreseeable we are here but who knows what the future will bring!"
