Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley hints at murder storyline as he speaks out on Cain Dingle 'killing'

The idyllic Yorkshire village of Emmerdale last year had a higher murder rate per inhabitant than the Mexican drug cartel flashpoint of Tijuana.

And there could be another on the cards. This time Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) could be about to bump off his half-brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) after their uneasy reunion this month.

Cain took the rap for killing Al Chapman (Michael Wild) until it was revealed his child son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) was responsible. After his release from custody – and Kyle's removal to a secure home – Caleb tells Cain of his possible intention to make his sibling disappear.

Caleb says: "Come on, Cain you've got a record. Could you really be so stupid as to put yourself back inside?

"Cain, just so you know, through a little bit of good luck and a lot of good judgement, I don't have the tiniest blemish on my record.

"So if I end up doing something terrible to you, I'll be walking away, you should bear that in mind."

But Cain might get there first. He's already threatened to take out Caleb and Hordley has said there's a possibility he could follow through.

“There’s always the potential, I think, with the nature of the character," Jeff told Express.co.uk and other press about Cain killing someone.

"I mean, fortunately, that hasn't happened yet.

"That’s the thing, there are only a few characters in the soap world who kill people and are still there. You have to get your comeuppance.

"But because of the nature of Cain’s DNA, I think there’s always potential for that to happen."
