Emmerdale viewers have questioned how the show won best soap after an ‘embarrassing’ episode.
This evening, the show had an hour-long special where some viewers felt the popular ITV programme didn’t strike the right balance of seriousness and humour. Nicola King’s ongoing heartache continued in dramatic scenes but this was offset with scenes including sister Bernice Blackstock.
During the episode, the light-relief came through an environmental project led by Bernice which included characters Laurel Thomas and Rishi Sharma. The Green Initiative, which saw many scenes at the village allotment, resulted in many innuendos which left some viewers wanting to switch off.
