Emmerdale viewers will see a familiar face head to the village this week, as Rhona Goskirk's ex-husband Gus makes his debut.
It's clear Gus has a motive for being in the village and for wanting to catch up with his ex after so long.
Rhona is shocked this week by what Gus has to say, as he drops a bombshell on her before making a life-changing request.
But this wouldn't be the first time the actor playing him has been at the centre of huge soap scenes, with another role seeing him play a dangerous villain not too long ago.
Gus is played by Alan McKenna who has had roles in several hit shows including Save me, Moving On, Happy Valley and Doc Martin, according to his IMDB page.
Other TV credentials include DCI Banks, Doctors, New Tricks, The Bill, Waterloo road and Bad Girls.
Emmerdale isn't his first soap role, as Alan played a character in EastEnders called Tony Andrews for eight episodes between 2006 and 2007.
Possibly his more memorable soap role is his stint in Coronation Street though, when he played a villain for six episodes in 2018.
Alan played Ronan Truman, a notorious drug lord and the father of Cormac Truman who died from a drug overdose in Ryan Connor's flat.
Ronan blamed Ryan for the crime and sought revenge, which ended with him running the character over and almost killing him.
He ended up crashing his car in the fallout and became impaled on a post, which Ryan's brother Ali deliberately removed in order to kill him.
Ali managed to convince the police and others that Ronan had killed himself by pulling out the post before he could stop him.
Back to Emmerdale, and this week Gus wastes no time in explaining his situation and what has been going on in his personal life with Rhona left uncomfortable.
But Rhona is left shocked and confused when Gus reveals he wants to use one of their frozen embryos from when they were together.
Rhona questions this as the embryos were meant to have been destroyed after their split.
Gus soon confesses they were never destroyed, and not only that but he has been in touch with the clinic and has been acting on her behalf.
Rhona is horrified over the news and the fact he has gone behind her back, never mind the fact the embryos were never destroyed like she'd thought.
Rhona feels she’s been left with an impossible choice, but will she agree to Gus using their embryos, or might Gus find himself in trouble after his confession?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
