Emmerdale will air emotional scenes on Thursday night, as young Kyle Winchester is taken away from his family after confessing to murder.
Last week, Kyle, aged 10, finally told the police that he accidentally shot and killed Al Chapman in October - and this week fans have seen him give details about the crime.
With his father Cain Dingle taking the blame and being sent to prison, Kyle was keen to get him out and reveal the truth - struggling with his actions.
After his killer confession, scenes on Thursday will see him leave his family home - after Wednesday's episode showed Moira Dingle learning her stepson Kyle was going to be taken to an authority children’s home, after his confession.
In the aftermath, the family will gather to wave off Kyle as he heads to the home with the social workers.
In heartbreaking scenes, Moira, Kyle's mother Amy Wyatt and other Dingle family members will hug it out with the youngster, and bid him farewell from the village.
Kyle is then driven away, as Moira and Amy sob - and the other family members reel from recent events.
This is not a permanent departure for Kyle, played by actor Huey Quinn, and the character is not leaving the ITV soap.
So it seems he will still be on screen, while it's not yet clear what will happen next for the youngster now that he will be away from his loved ones in the Dales.
Meanwhile, his father Cain, who has been in prison for his son's crime for months, heads back to the village in the fallout.
He is released after Kyle is taken away by social services, and heads back home where he is reunited with wife Moira.
It's not entirely clear if the couple can get through their latest drama and Kyle going, after Cain's recent threat.
Cain made it clear that he blamed Moira, as well as his estranged brother Caleb, for Kyle's situation - after Cain took the blame to keep his son out of prison.
So with Kyle having confessed and being taken away, can he forgive Moira or will they fall apart?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
