Emmerdale's Dawn Taylor set for reunion with 'daughter she gave away' in shock twist

Emmerdale's Dawn Taylor and her husband Billy Fletcher share one child together Lucas Taylor and at present the couple have no intentions of welcoming a new addition to the family.

However, a new theory suggests there could be a good reason as to why the mother-of-one is reluctant to have another child and it has everything to do with her past.

Viewers of the ITV soap predict that Dawn could have previously given up another child, but could her past come back to haunt her? It it suggested that in a shocking twist Dawn could come face to face with her estranged child in scenes set to air.

It kicks off when Dawn gets dealt the devastating blow that her former best friend from her younger days, Beth, has died from a drug overdose, something which she always predicted would happen.

A troubled Dawn is torn over whether to attend the funeral, worried that revisiting her past life could bring back too many memories. However, her husband Billy encourages her to go telling her she could live to regret her decision if she didn't say her final goodbyes to her former friend.

Reluctantly Dawn agrees to attend the funeral but her fears are soon realised when she comes face to face with another blast from the past, Jade, who is also a drug user and potential trigger for Dawn.

Dawn agrees to go back to her friend's house to see if she has also turned her life around, despite an overwhelming feeling that it is not a good idea.

She soon discovers that despite her optimism Jade is still very much wrapped in her troubles and continues to use drugs, but more disturbingly still, Dawn discovers there is a child living in Jade's house and it appears she isn't being cared for.

Jade, who is by this point in the midst of a high, reveals that the child is in fact Beth's daughter named Clemmie and she doesn't currently know that her mother has died.

Dawn is concerned about Clemmie and matters only get worse when a dangerous man turns up at the house, in an act of desperation the mother-of-one says she will take Clemmie back to live with her as she offers Jade financial help.

Tensions rise as things get heated but after parting with some money Dawn manages to leave the house with Clemmie in tow, when she arrives back at the village Billy is shocked that his wife has brought a child home to live with them and questions Dawn as to how long it is going to be for.

Billy encourages his wife to contact social services so they can arrange to care for Clemmie properly, but a fearful Dawn point blank refuses to get the services involved.

Billy gives Dawn an ultimatum and says the child can only stay for one more night but it seems Dawn is reluctant to let Clemmie go, one theory suggests that this could be due to the fact that Clemmie is actually Dawn's child and Lucas' twin.

It is suggested that Dawn could explain to her husband when she found out she was pregnant, she didn't realise she was having twins but when she went into labour with Lucas, she was informed she was going to have two babies.

Knowing she couldn't care for both her son and her daughter, Dawn could have given Clemmie to Beth, who had already turned her life around.

She thought the little girl would be better off being raised by Beth than she would be living with her but unfortunately, Beth's life spiralled which could have led her to start taking drugs again, resulting in her death.

With both children now back in her life, Dawn could tell Billy she wants to keep Clemmie so they could become a proper little family. Billy would still be reluctant as Clemmie would believe Beth was her mother and would be confused as to why she's not around anymore.

But will Dawn tell Clemmie the truth or will she make her daughter believe her life with Beth wasn't a complete lie?
