Emmerdale's Chas Dingle is set for heartbreak next week, as her mum Faith Dingle passes away.
But in a tragic twist, Chas remains unaware of her mother's passing after fleeing her family for a day of passion with her fling Al Chapman.
Al even puts Chas' phone on silent, as her husband Paddy desperately calls her to alert her that her mother has died.
As the Dingles reel from Faith's death, Chas is completely in the dark amid her latest romp with Al in a hotel away from the village.
It all kicks off after Chas initially claimed her and Al were over, calling off their affair after months of cheating.
But amid Faith deteriorating, Chas' mother decides to have a final family day out - which ends up becoming a a fake beach trip in the village.
What her family doesn't realise until it's too late is that Faith is planning to end her life, not wanting to suffer anymore with her physical and mental health deteriorating due to the cancer spreading.
As Faith makes the decision to die alone, not wanting to burden her family with the trauma or possibly facing trouble with the law, she is soon rumbled by her son Cain, who is too late to stop her.
But someone who isn't there is Chas, Faith's beloved daughter, and it seems she might not get to say goodbye.
Chas has been struggling to cope with her mother's diagnosis and knowing she would soon be gone.
She's sought comfort in Al throughout, but she may end up regretting this next week when it costs her time with Faith in her final hours, and moments.
Chas agrees to meet with Al, and soon the pair give into temptation and sleep together.
As they get steamy, Chas has no idea what her mother has done and that she has passed away.
So how will she react when she realises what has happened in her absence, and that the desperate calls were missed due to Al silencing her phone?
