In From the Side follows an affair between two men who play for the same rugby team. Alexander has spoken about how he sees the London-based film.
"It's about raw lust, throwing caution to the wind, not really thinking about other people's feelings and having it all blow up in your face," Alexander explained. "I think everyone can relate to that, whether you've had an affair or not."
While In From the Side does focus on the sexuality of the two main protagonists it isn’t completely about coming out. Alexander has discussed the thinking behind the film.
"[It] isn't about the hardships of coming out or feeling like an outsider," he said. "The LGBTQI+ aspect of it is there, but it isn't: 'Oh wow, they're gay and they play rugby.' The film is mostly about camaraderie, teamwork and the relationships that develop in sports teams.”
Alexander Lincoln stars alongside Alexander King in the new film. In From The Side will be released on Friday, March 25.
