Former Emmerdale star Alexander Lincoln has had a transformation for his new Netflix role, following his departure from the ITV soap.
The soap star is renowned for his portrayal of Jamie Tate in the Yorkshire based soap - the son to manipulative soap queen Kim Tate and her husband Frank.
From the get-go he was involved in a drama-filled storyline. When he was born, there was doubt over who his dad was, because Kim had an affair with Dave Glover. After dramatic face-offs Kim and Jamie left Emmerdale, however, later returned in 2019.
The star has since left the soap once more in a dramatic exit as he drove his car recklessly out of town and accidentally drove off a cliff edge into a lake. When the police dredged the water, they found the car, but no sign of Jamie’s body.
For weeks everyone, except Kim, believed he was dead and Kim was right as he was in fact still alive and had faked his own death.
And now the star will be seen in a totally new light after bagging a role in a Netflix movie. The film, titled In From The Side, tells the story of a gay rugby club that is put in jeopardy when two of it’s players begin an affair.
Alexander plays the role of Mark, a rookie rugby player who begins a secret relationship with star player Warren (Alexander King). The film has recently been added to Netflix, after several successful screenings at various film festivals.
Sharing the exciting news to Instagram Alexander penned: "EVERYONE - @infromtheside is going to @netflixuk this March!! So so proud of the team and how this film is being received around the world!!"
It has already been selected as one of the must-watch films for the LGBT film festival.
