Emmerdale reveals outcome of Kyle's hearing as Cain struggles with the news

Emmerdale revealed the outcome of Kyle Winchester's hearing tonight - but Cain was left struggling with the news.

The ITV soap have been airing a shocking storyline as of late after businessman Al Chapman was murdered. Cain was sent to prison for killing Al before it was confirmed that he was just covering for his son, who fired the gun, and it was actually Kyle who killed Al.

Cain spent time in prison, but Kyle has been struggling with his dad being away knowing he was to blame for what happened. Moira and Amy soon find out Kyle was responsible and the young boy had been having nightmares and wetting the bed.

Kyle eventually decided he wanted to come clean about what had happened and headed to the police station to tell them all about what had happened that day, before producing the bloodied jumper as evidence.

They had no chance but to let Cain go and Kyle was taken away for social services ahead of a hearing being held to decide his fate. During tonight's episode, Kyle returned to the village after being let out on bail.

The bail conditions were set out - and it included Cain being stopped from seeing his son until the prosecution decide what to do.

When Kyle confessed to what happened, he promised the police that he had proof.

"I killed someone, and I can prove it. I killed Al Chapman. I don't know what happened. I didn't mean to... to make it shoot. But there was this bang and he fell and I got blood on my jumper," he told the police in an interview room.

Moira was left stunned when Cain was arrested for the murder and then pleaded guilty to the crime.

"Moira is shocked to the core by Cain's confession. I think deep down she knew something wasn't quite right but she had no idea that Kyle had been involved in the shooting," actress Natalie J Robb said, "I think the audience will really sympathise with Moira's dilemma.

"She will do everything she can to keep her family together, Kyle may not be hers by blood but she sees him as her own. She has a lot of extremely difficult decisions to make. This is a fascinating story to play as there are so many twists and turns that will cause a ripple effect on other characters in the village that are not yet aware of the true circumstances.

"Moira, as a mother and a wife, has such a turbulent time ahead which is great as an actress to get stuck into."
