Paddy Dingle is one of the greatest legends in Emmerdale history but could we be about to say goodbye to the village vet.
As Emmerdale viewers know, Paddy is currently enduring an incredibly upsetting time through a storyline centred on men’s mental health.
Dominic Brunt, 52, who plays Paddy, has praised charitable organisations Andy’s Man Club and The Samaritans for their help with the storyline. Since Paddy discovered wife Chas had an affair with Al Chapman we’ve seen his wellbeing deteriorate.

Discussing the challenging scenes, Dominic said: "It’s a huge honour and a great responsibility to be portraying this storyline. It’s an inherent problem in today’s society that most men don’t talk enough about their problems.
"We bottle them up, we don’t want to bother anyone, we become embarrassed, we feel we should be strong and not show weakness. If this story can shine a light on the issue or make even a small change to someone’s outlook or viewpoint, then it will have been worth it."
Paddy is currently missing with villagers and fans concerned about his whereabouts. Earlier this week, we brought you news Paddy will return to Emmerdale next month but it has been teased as only a brief visit back to the village.
Could this mean after 25 years we might be saying goodbye to Paddy Dingle and actor Dominic Brunt? Previously, Dominic has given cryptic hints his time in Emmerdale might be coming to an end.
“If I was to go tomorrow though, I wouldn’t complain because I’ve had 25 amazing years – but long may it continue,” we reported Dominic state. “I absolutely love that job to pieces. I can’t explain to you what it means to me.”

In recent years, Dominic has been building his career away from Emmerdale. He’s helmed a number of horror films being an aficionado of the genre.
Last year, Dominic directed Wolf Manor which starred James Fleet and John Henshaw. He’s also directed Attack of The Adult Babies and Before Dawn among other films.
Of course, we'll keep you posted on what the future holds for Paddy Dingle in Emmerdale and his alter ego Dominic Brunt.
