Emmerdale fans have 'worked out' a link between scammer Faye and Rhona's ex Gus.
Faye was exposed as an evil scammer, working to take money from Mary by convincing her they were in a genuine loving relationship and defrauding her of thousands of pounds to save a fake charity in Ecuador that helped women.
In a tense exchange last night, Faye pushed Mary after she confronted her and she was left lifeless on the floor after injuring her head. Luckily for Mary, Gus arrived to give his ex-wife Rhona some flowers when he noticed Mary was hurt and called an ambulance.
Gus is back in the village to try and convince Rhona to let him use the eggs they had frozen together, but she is not keen, and would rather just see them destroyed now their relationship is long gone.
However, some fans are convinced there could be a link between Faye and Gus - and he's hiding a secret connection to the scammer.
One suggested: "Perhaps Faye stole the money for Gus to pay Rhona for the eggs and Rhona takes it to give to Mary to make up for what she lost #confused #emmerdale," as a second added: "Got a feeling that Gus is linked to Faye, somehow #emmerdale."
"Mary really was scammed #Emmerdale Rhona will need Gus money now @emmerdale," a third shared, as a fourth penned on social media: "There's more to it. Gus is involved somewhere #emmerdale."
Another shared: "Why do I have a bad feeling Gus and this woman are working together. He looked a bit dodgy leaving the house."
However, others are convinced Gus' shady behaviour is actually to help his own cause - and get the eggs from Rhona, as one suggested he could be taking Rhona's passport to copy her signature and release the eggs from the bank.
Actress Louise Jameson - who plays Mary - recently opened up about the scamming storyline, and how she has been targeted by scammers for years and receives at least one unsolicited message each week.
"I will get an email, phone call or text at least once a week trying to tempt me into some scam. They could well be algorithms but there are ones that will say things like ‘I’ve got loads of money, can you give me your bank details so I can put it in there.' Then there are others like ‘Can you move all your money into this account so we can save your current account,' she told The Mirror.
