Emmerdale fans have been left fearful for Amelia’s health as the character started down a worrying path using weight supplement syrup she ordered online.
Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) bought the weight-gain syrup as she continues to extensively use her social media platforms in Emmerdale.
The decision came after spending time with Samson (Sam Hall) as Amelia showed him pictures of social media influencers.
She opened up about how keen she is to have a figure like the people she was following, hoping she’d gain more likes on her posts.
Samson told Amelia that anyone can look like the pictures on her phone with the countless editing apps – he then said how Mandy (Lisa Riley) has mentioned people taking diet pills or syrups to change their figure.
When he mentioned the quick-fix approach to weight loss some women have taken, instead of scaring Amelia off, it seemed to give her an idea.
In later scenes, she was shown on her phone purchasing a mystery supplement called Apremine in a suspicious bottle.
Amelia is willing to risk her own health in a bid to increase her social media following, but how bad are things about to get for her?
The drama continued in the latest episode of the soap, when Amelia was seen necking from the dodgy bottle of Apremine.
But as Amelia’s vision began to blur as an apparent result of the substance, Emmerdale fans seemed to notice another apparent side effect.
As Amelia looked unwell, fans took to Twitter after noticing her apparently changed colouring.
One wrote: “Why does Amelia look like she's been tangoed?! ,” as another wrote: “Did Amelia drink a bottle of orange bleach or a slimming drink?”
A third chimed: “Amelia necking carrot juice again. Reason she’s turning orange,” as a fourth echoed: “Why is Amelia turning orange. Been nicking the rabbit’s carrots I suspect.”
Another fearful fan commented: “Amelia is lying to Cathy. She looks so orange.”
A soap viewer asked: “What did Amelia just drink?? Shes gonna end up killing herself.”
Another concluded: “Hopefully Amelia realises that stuff can be dangerous,” as a fellow fan wrote: “Will they take the Amelia story right to the end. Or just a visit to the magic hospital.”
The end of the episode left Amelia’s health in doubt as she continued to pull the wool over Cathy’s eyes, drinking the syrup in secret – will she be alright?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
