Emmerdale fans have pointed out a huge blunder as Dan found himself charged with GBH.
Dan - played by Liam Fox - confronted Amelia's online stalker Lloyd and punched him in shock scenes, in a bid to protect his daughter Amelia. However, the punch caused him to be rushed to hospital, with Dan making it worse when he headed to the hospital to confront Lloyd over what he did and ended up meeting Lloyd's wife.
Tonight, Dan found out the police had charged him with grievous bodily harm but he was released on bail. As he returned home, he refused to tell Amelia what had really happened, playing down his questioning by the police.
However, fans are sure they've spotted a huge error on the ITV soap amid the dramatic scenes.
One wrote: "You'd think they would interview Amelia. But that would be too convenient #Emmerdale," as a second added: "They've not even questioned or gone through Amelia's phone ffs. #Emmerdale."
" #emmerdale Have these stupid coppers even interviewed Amelia yet??" a third shared, with a fourth writing: "Wait a minute. Have the police not talked to Amelia...and searched every nook & cranny for the teenage pest's mobile and laptop devices #Emmerdale."
A fifth penned: "how did they not find his messages to Amelia?! my guess is he used a burner phone or something? #Emmerdale."
Dan actor Liam Fox previously teased how much his character would struggle if he was to go to prison.
"For somebody like Dan, I think it wouldn’t do him any favours at all. I think he'd come out worse than he went in because he's not a villain... If Dan gets locked up it could change everything for his daughter Amelia," he said.
"I did a bit of research into these things. I didn't meet anybody but I watched a lot of films and videos online, of not only the perpetrators of the violence but also the victims' families and it's just sad, really.
"Because nine times out of 10, the person who's hit the other person didn’t want this, they just lash out."
Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw has revealed all on a dark new storyline that could see one character sent to prison.
She said: "We want to show the stark reality and devastating impact one punch can have. In a moment of madness, Dan’s world will be turned upside down. His actions could cost him his freedom and more tragically could cost Lloyd his life.
"As the story unfolds, we’ll see Dan battle with the guilt of what he's done and the impact this one violent act has on his family, friends and the wider community."
Liam added: "This storyline is the best I’ve been a part of in all my time in Emmerdale. When it was first discussed with me, I just knew it was going to be something special. The producers have absolutely come up trumps with a story that really does mean something. So many of us have been in a situation where we could be put in the same position as Dan.
"Who wouldn’t want to protect their daughter from unwanted attention? Every day of the week somebody somewhere may strike out to hit someone not knowing what that punch could lead to."
