Emmerdale fans slam Danny Miller's Aaron Dingle exit scene but hope for future return

Emmerdale viewers have slammed Aaron Dingle's goodbye scene after he briefly returned as part of the soap's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Actor Danny Miller quit the show last year with his character leaving the village on December 6. However, he surprised fans with a brief appearance this month to celebrate Emmerdale's milestone birthday.

A lot of viewers were absolutely delighted to see him again but weren't overly impressed how he was written out of the show when it became time to say goodbye. Aaron and his mum Chas left things on a bad note after he figured out she had been cheating on husband Paddy Kirk with Al Chapman.

On top of leaving while there were still unresolved issues, his final scene failed to pack a punch. Aaron Dingle fans complained that writers did not do him justice but many are hopeful this might not be the last they've seen of him.

Eli said sarcastically: "Nice how much effort they put into Aaron's goodbyes."

Caz wondered: "Was that actually the last scene I’m ever gonna see of Aaron because wtf."

Erin Zammitt wrote: "I can’t believe they brought Aaron back for a short time and had him leave on such bad terms with Chas, but he’s right… this Chas and Al thing truly is the worst."

Another fan said: It's been wonderful having Aaron back, let's hope for another Aaron return down the line, he's really the heart of the show. It's never the same without him."

Sulagna asked: "Is that Aaron's exit?!"

Fiona said: "Goodbye Aaron gonna miss ya."

Shaky commented: "So sad Aaron is leaving."

Amelia tweeted: "Going to miss you so much my best boy Aaron Dingle."

And Dion wrote: "I wish Aaron was staying."
