Emmerdale fans believe they have worked out how Chas Dingle and Al Chapman’s affair could come out on the ITV soap.
The pair met for an illicit rendezvous during Marlon and Rhona’s wedding reception on the Dales during Thursday’s episode. Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Al ( Michael Wildman ) have become embroiled in an affair as Chas continues to reckon with the devastating reality of her mum Faith’s ( Sally Dexter ) cancer.
As she then snuck away from the wedding celebrations to enjoy alone time in the village, the pair hinted at their true feelings for one another.
Soap fans now think there could be heartbreak in store for one of Emmerdale ’s most beloved characters, Paddy Kirk ( Dominic Brunt ) after Cain made a surprise appearance and gave Al shifty eyes as he stood blatantly holding two champagne glasses, despite supposedly being alone.
Emmerdale fans now think Cain could be the key to the affair coming out, with many taking to Twitter to share how the soap veteran could be involved in the storyline.
One wrote: “Surely you’d ask why he’s hold 2 glasses of Apple juice I mean wine!”
A second penned: “Will Cain see Kerry & then notice Chas missing,” as another wrote: “Hope Cain sees Kerry not in the house.”
A third fan suggested: “How brilliant would it have been if he'd seen something of Chas' and kicked the door in to come back.”
This comes after ITV strongly hinted that Cain ( Jeff Hordley ) could be the first to find out about his sister’s affair.
“How will her headstrong brother Cain react should he realise she’s in bed with his arch nemesis?” an ITV spokesperson teased.
Chas’s world has been rocked by her mum’s terminal cancer diagnosis and has sought solace in the arms of her family’s sworn enemy.
Although the secret romance appears to have brought out Al’s sensitive side, Emmerdale viewers are in no doubt who their sympathy is with, with many demanding a better lot for Chas’s husband Paddy.
Emmerdale fans were particularly feeling for him during Thursday’s episode, as he delivered a speech in the Woolpack on his love for Chas – while she was, unbeknownst to him, cuddling up with Al doors down.
But Paddy has so far been oblivious to his wife’s disappearing acts Chas to meet up with Al for liaisons in the woods, hotels, and anywhere else they can get alone time. Could that be about to change?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
