In Emmerdale's hour-long episode on Thursday night, viewers saw teen Amelia Spencer give birth to a baby girl. The young mum found herself in labour earlier this week as a horrendous storm swept the village, leaving devastation in its wake, as part of the soap's 50th anniversary.
Thankfully Amelia sought shelter in a barn and was rescued by Lydia Dingle, who took her to hospital. During the latest episode on Thursday, the teen was seen giving birth with Kerry Wyatt and Charity Dingle by her side whilst boyfriend Noah Dingle and dad Dan Spencer were waiting outside.
Once she'd welcomed her baby, her dad came to see his new granddaughter and was desperately trying to hide his devastation as Amelia spoke of how lucky she was to have so much support and mentioned Harriet Finch. Dan had found Harriet in the forest earlier this week after she'd died in a quad bike accident, whilst searching for Amelia during the storm - but he made the decision to keep the news of Harriet's death from Amelia, OK! reports.
Emmerdale fans have now taken to Twitter to share what name they think Amelia will give her baby. Some have been predicting that once she learns of Harriet's death, she may pay a sweet tribute to the late vicar turned police officer by naming her daughter after her.
Laura posted: "Really hope Amelia calls her baby girl Harriet #emmerdale." Danimay Palmer said: "No but if Amelia calls her baby Harriet I will SOB #emmerdale."
Sal tweeted: "What we betting Amelia names the baby Harriet? #Emmerdale." and @IrishClaireK seemed to agree saying: "Bet Amelia finds out Harriet died and names the baby after her #emmerdale."
Meanwhile other viewers suggested she could name the newborn after Faith Dingle or Liv Flaherty, as both characters have died in recent episodes in heartbreaking scenes. Jayne M said: "So will baby be Harriet Olivia Faith? #emmerdale."
Donna added: "I bet she calls the baby Olivia #emmerdale." and Shaky tweeted: "I wonder if Amelia's baby will be named after Liv? #Emmerdale."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV and ITV Hub from 7.30pm.
