Emmerdale fans not 'fooled' by Chloe leaving village as they predict twist

Emmerdale fans have slammed "the world's longest goodbye" after Chloe Harris announced she would leave the village with her unborn baby.

The mum-to-be appeared conflicted about her departure and harbouring notions that the baby's dad, Mackenzie Boyd, would ask her to stay. However, Mack, who is now engaged to Charity Dingle, instead said he would not stop Chloe from leaving and would "not think of this baby ever again".

Tonight's episode was taken up by Chloe "leaving" the village as she said goodbye to friend Sarah Sugden. Viewers thought the scenes were dragged out unnecessarily and said they were convinced she would be back for Christmas.

An "odd" non-verbal exchange between Chloe and Paddy Kirk during her departure also didn't go unnoticed and viewers said Mackenzie's attitude towards his unborn child seemed contradicting. Rach wrote on Twitter: "Am I missing something between Chloe and Paddy, is he the baby's father?"

Peter asked: "Why did Chloe stare at Paddy?"

Referring to the lengthy goodbye, Paul Gibbons joked: "The year is 2056, half the world has been annihilated by war, aliens have enslaved us and Chloe is still leaving."

In a similar vein, another viewer commented: "I swear you could fit the rise and fall of the Roman Empire twice into the time it's taking Chloe to leave."

Ben Powell wrote: "I no doubt Chloe will be back with a baby in tow shortly £15 one way…"

Owen said: "Paddy waving bye to Chloe, he should’ve said 'see you in 5 minutes' because we all know she’ll be back.

He added: "Secret aside, it’s stupid how Mack who is desperate to be a dad was happy for Chloe to go?"

One viewer complained: "What a wasted scene, we know Chloe will be there Xmas day."

And Peter asked: "Why did Chloe stare at Paddy?"
