Emmerdale viewers were left “baffled” after Charity Dingle and Amy Waytt’s explosive clash resulted in the fiery blonde being arrested.
Tension has been high in the village after Chas’ secret affair was finally exposed. Chas began having an affair with Al Chapman earlier this year and Al’s fiancée Kerry and Chas’s husband Paddy had no clue it was going on.
However last week Paddy confronted Chas and revealed that he knew about the affair and her plans to leave him and take their daughter Eve with her. During Monday night's episode of the ITV soap, Kerry’s daughters Amy and Chloe tried to put the Chas drama to one side so Amelia’s christening for baby Esther would run smoothly.

However thing’s didn’t go to plan as Charity decided to step in and fight Chas’ battle for her. Within minutes of the christening at the church Charity and Amy started arguing and it soon turned physical.
After it was announced that Charity was going to be Esther’s Godmother, Amy shouted: "You are trying to guide her when you have a zero moral compass. She can barely be bothered to look after her own kids let alone look after Esther."
Charity branded Amy a hypocrite and said: "She dumped her own baby in a phone box and she dares lecture me!" She continued: “I suggest you get out before things get worse.” Amy asked: “Or what?”
Charity suddenly lunged at Amy knocking over the holy water. Amelia was devastated as she burst into tears and ran out of the church.

Later in the village, Charity accused Amy of ruining everything. Amy then pushes Charity and when she pushes back a policeman is standing behind her.
Amy and Charity told their side of the story to the policeman but Amy dropped a bombshell when she revealed that she wanted to press charges. Charity protested that she acted in self defence and that Amy shoved her first, but the policeman stated he had no choice but to arrest her.
Viewers were quick to spot a problem as they questioned why Charity was getting herself involved Chas’ fight. @Robron75 Tweeted: “It's not Charity you should be going after Amy or be angry at you want to have a go at someone, she's called Chas.”
@Calzonafan2013 asked: “Why is Charity taking all the punishment for Chas’ infidelity? It’s a weird choice. #Emmerdale”
@sofaneilas joked: “I love how it's Chas that cheated and Charity has also been cheated on - BUT it's Charity who has been elbowed in the face, and is now arrested LMAO!”
@Chris1968E commented: “#Emmerdale don't get why they have Charity sticking up for Chas so much after everything that's happened before.”
While @viqqyy added: “Charity defending Chas so much is completely baffling!! Chas is always the first one to turn on her when she does something even slightly wrong #emmerdale.”
