Emmerdale fans were left in tears during Friday night's emotional episode which saw one of the show's most popular characters return to our screens.
It is safe to say not many eyes stayed dry tonight as viewers watched Liv and Faith Dingle being laid to rest in a joint funeral. Liv tragically died after being crushed under Sam and Lydia’s caravan and Faith took her own life after being diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.
The whole village gathered to say their final farewells but much to the surprise of everyone, Faith decided to make one final return. In a heartbreaking letter, read out by her good friend Eric Pollard, she said she had been running from things her entire life but "cancer finally caught up with me".

"A lot of people would like to say that when the final curtain falls, they have no regrets, but for me that would be a lie as I've got loads," she wrote. "But there is one that pains me more than most.
"I've not always been the best mum to my two. I get that from me mother, who got it from her, evil old witch of a mother who - though I hate to speak ill of the dead - probably got it from hers.
"But thankfully, my two are the best parents a child could ever wish for. They broke the mould and I am proud of them for it.
"So to my kids, Cain and Chas, I salute you and I love you more than I can say. And I am sorry for in the great lottery of parents you got me. Given lots of thoughts to how I want you to remember me.
"I don't want to be remembered for my cancer, I want you to remember me as me, not what's left at the end of a horrible fight I was never going to win. I hope you understand.
She ended her letter with: "I'd like to think I'll see you all again one day, you will find me here at the bar, I'll save you all a seat. Loads of love, Faith."
Emmerdale viewers were touched by her beautiful words and the flashbacks of Faith sitting down to write the letter. Many were incredibly happy to see actress Sally Dexter back on their screens.
Ryan Glendenning wrote on Twitter: "Hearing Faith's voice I miss her so much." Elle commented: "How lovely to see Faith again."
Another fan confessed: "I'm in tears." Lyndsey Fitzpatrick tweeted: "Don’t think I’ve ever cried some much watching a tv funeral."
Michelle said: "Faith will look after Liv up there…We will miss you both!" And Dave said: "Faith writing her goodbye letter, Eric and the flashbacks is such a nice touch."
