Emmerdale viewers were left emotional after Paddy Kirk struggled to cope with the aftermath of his best friend Marlon Dingle’s stroke.
Marlon Dingle’s devastating stroke has shattered the lives of himself and all of those around him who love him including his best pal Paddy.
For many years, they have been inseparable, laughing together, confiding in one another and bickering like an old married couple.

However since Marlon has been in hospital Paddy has been keeping his distance and burying his head in things for work - rather than going to visit.
During tonight's episode Paddy sat down to play a video game, something he often does with Marlon but things didn’t feel quite right as his best friend wasn’t there.
Eventually after putting it off Paddy finally went to visit and sat beside Marlon, who was still unconscious following the operation to remove his blood clot.

In a heartbreaking scene, Paddy begged for Marlon to wake up after admitting he wouldn’t be able to cope if his best pal doesn’t recover or survive.
Thankfully, Marlon opened his eyes however it wasn’t all good news as Paddy went on to ask Marlon to blink if he remembers who he is but he didn’t.
A broken Paddy upped and left, telling the nurse that Marlon had woken up as he quickly left the hospital. Could this mean Marlon has lost his memory and forgotten all the important people in his life?
Emmerdale fans were moved by the emotional scene and went straight to Twitter to share their reactions.
