Emmerdale fans hit out at producers over 'inconsistent' rarely-seen character

Emmerdale viewers have hit out at producers over an "inconsistent" character who is rarely seen on the soap.

The daughter of Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk has hardly ever been on screen since her birth in October 2019. Viewers were shocked to find out how much she had grown following a rare appearance last week.

The little girl, who is almost three now, was seen drawing at a table while out with mum Chas. But viewers have now noticed some inconsistencies and said it didn't make sense that the little girl had reverted back to "baby talk" during tonight's episode of Emmerdale.

Taking to Twitter, they said Eve did not sound like a three-year-old at all. Kelly tweeted: "Eve was a two-year-old running around last week, now she’s back in a pushchair talking baby language."

Dion questioned: "Why does Eve sound like a little baby she’s nearly 3."

Little Eve appeared during the episode on September 7 (ITV)

Aidan asked: "Is Eve just a doll because we never see her?"

Betty criticised: "Last week Eve was sitting up in a chair drawing pictures looking about 2. Now she's reverted back to a babbling 8-month-old. Make up your mind."

Linda B said: "How old is Chas and Paddy's Eve supposed to be? I'm thinking 2 at the very least. So why do they use 'newborn' sound effects for her? By that age kids don't need baby monitors, the 'MUMMMMYYYY!' at the top of their voices usually does the trick!"

And Sparkysue wrote: "I’d be worried about 3 year old toddler Eve in Emmerdale, she sounds like a baby and sits perfectly still in a pushchair!! My 2 year 3 month old granddaughter wouldn’t sit in the pushchair and would be making sense with her speech!"
