Emmerdale viewers have flooded show writers with praise as the soap again shines light on mental health.
As viewers know there have been a few villagers struggling with their mental health over the past few months as they open up to a number of their loved ones about how they feel. During tonight's episode of the ITV soap Cathy was struggling to cope after an incident on the village’s bridge, which nearly ended in tragedy.
The teen recently confided in Bernice about suffering from heavy periods, Cathy sought help from GP Manpreet Sharma , who recommended that she go on the pill to ease her suffering but it didn’t seem to be working.

Cathy and her pals decided to bunk off school and attend a concert. April, however, started to grow concerned about Cathy’s reckless behaviour, as did Heath and Marshall Hamston.
Cathy refused to take their advice, instead climbing onto the bridge, which was the very same bridge where Leanna was pushed to her death by Meena Jutla almost two years ago.
Bob, Wendy, Manpreet and Liam saw the teen and raced towards her, with Bob concerned that his beloved daughter was going to fall to her death. They managed to save her just in time. Cathy, who wasn’t on drugs or under the influence of alcohol, explained that she just wanted to ‘have some fun’ and ‘be happy’.
Bob took Cathy to A&E where she opened up about her mental health as she revealed that she feels sad ‘all the time’, and gets anxious and angry.
