Emmerdale viewers have predicted that there could be an affair on the horizon with former couple Paddy Kirk and Mandy Dingle.
The latest episode of the ITV soap saw Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Mandy (Lisa Riley) share a tender moment as they treated newlyweds Liv and Vinny to a meal out to celebrate their recent nuptials.
The former lovers couldn't resist reminiscing about the old times, and Mandy certainly had a nostalgic look in her eye.
"Reminded me of what we were like when we were there age," she said of her son Vinny (Bradley Johnson) and Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele).
"Just so much bonkers stuff," Paddy replied, as Mandy continued: "I guess we were just like them.
"I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if me and you had stayed together."
"I don't think I was ever enough for you," Paddy responded, before adding: "That way you wouldn't have needed someone else."
Looking disheartened, Mandy said: "Let's hope that Liv and Vinny don't have those troubles, hey?"
"They've already been through worse, I think they'll be together forever," Paddy added, putting a smile back on Mandy's face.
Viewers were quick to notice the chemistry between Mandy and Paddy, and took to Twitter to comment.
"Sparks between Paddy and Mandy??? #Emmerdale," one person questioned.
Another commented: "god they aint gonna do a mandy and paddy affair are they couldn't think of anything worse #Emmerdale."
A third person tweeted: "Paddy & Mandy better not get together again. #Emmerdale."
And a fourth viewer added: "Mandy and Paddy are going to have affair then #Emmerdale."
Mandy and Paddy married each other back in 1999, but their romance wasn't to be as he found out that Mandy was having an affair with her sick father's nurse and quickly ended their marriage.
This led to Mandy fleeing the village, but since returning in 2019, she and Paddy seem to have put their history aside and get along with one another.
Paddy is now married to Chas Dingle, while Mandy is single following the death of her evil husband-to-be Paul Ashdale.
Actress Lisa recently hinted at more heartbreak for the Dingle family, and said: "With Mandy and Paddy, you can have two characters who used to be married and are now the bestest of friends.
"It's a deep-rooted loyalty and trust that Mandy and Paddy have. This is going to go on into the future and we've got some serious heartbreak coming in the Dingles.
"Of course when there's heartbreak in the Dingles, we all stick together like glue," she added.
