Emmerdale fans were left "cringing" as they noticed a change to the latest episode of the ITV soap.
The show aired on Sunday night this week owing to the change to ITV's schedules because of the FIFA World Cup. At the end of tonight's episode, David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and Victoria Sugden ( Isabel Hodgins ) decided to call it quits after Victoria found out that her partner had made a false declaration to the police after a recent speeding fine.
As the episode ended, David was seen returning to his and Victoria's home, where he saw her moving her stuff out.
Horrified by Victoria's decision, David was keen to make amends but Victoria soon told him she was leaving. Begging her not to go, he assured her he loved her, as she dealt him a stinging blow. "I know you do, but not as much as you love yourself," she said.
However, fans of the ITV soap were left most distracted in the scene as they fumed about a strange addition.
"Why in the Hollyoaks are they playing music?! #emmerdale," one fan wrote, whilst another added: "The music in #emmerdale.."
"What's with the music? Is emmerdale trying to be like #Hollyoaks? #Emmerdale," a third shared, with a fourth writing: "What’s with the dramatic music #emmerdale." A fifth added: "Not feeling the background music in #Emmerdale at all.
Another made their view clear, adding: "Alright what's with the s**t music #Emmerdale David take your hat off," whilst a further fan of the show wrote: "The music makes these closing scenes very cringe."
It comes after actress Isabel opened up about Victoria's reasoning behind her big decision.
Isabel shared to the Metro: "I think it’s out of sheer frustration and an accumulation of all the things he’s done. Because she’s taken on his money issues, because he’s been selfish and her son ended up in hospital, because of the speeding fine and the points on her license, and then at his birthday he’s giving it the big 'I am' and she’s at the end of her tether with it.
"I love working with Matthew and I really like Victoria and David on screen. But speaking for her and as a respect thing, I do think she has made the right decision."
