Emmerdale fans blast 'laughable storyline' as Ellis jets round the world

Emmerdale fans were left in disbelief after Emmerdale's Ellis announced he was jetting off to Australia for work - in just a week's time.

Ellis Chapman has begun his exit plot after actor Aaron Anthony quit the soap following the reported race row.

On tonight's episode, viewers were left gutted for Belle Dingle after Ellis failed to tell her that he was jetting off to Australia.

When she learnt the truth she was left devastated as she now thinks Ellis is about to break up with her.

He's previously confided in his brother Billy that an old friend has been in touch, offering him "the job of a lifetime."

However fans were left laughing at the storyline, taking to Twitter with laughing emojis and shock.

@TheBowers78 took to their keyboard, writing: "Isn't it amazing how people can get visas & everything sorted quickly & then fly off to Australia just like that.."

@WatcherMark seemed to find issues in the plot too, adding: "So I briefly tune into #Emmerdale and one of the characters has got a new job in Australia and is expected to start the beginning of next week. Is that even in the realms of reality?

"Presumably it'd take ages to sort out a Visa/travel/accommodation etc."

@tomwhujones couldn't believe the storyline either, commenting: "A job in Australia starting next week!!!! Do you know how long it takes to get a work visa."

@guyfoxy wrote: "who’s writing this SO YOU CAN DECIDE TO GO AND LIVE IN AUSTRALIA WITHIN A WEEK .I’ll go get packing."

@ziggysdad12 brand it impossible too, adding: "another la la land story line, not one of the writers has ever tried to get into Australia? . He wouldn't meet any of the criteria and he would be taking the job of an Australian. But at least Meena hasn't got him, yet."
