One Emmerdale fan has rumbled a wild theory to the true identity of Nicky's mother.
It was recently revealed that Caleb is actually Nicky's father and his mother is currently unknown. We do now that Caleb and Nicky have a link to the Tates, as it was confirmed that Frank Tate is actually Caleb's father.
Caleb has now made it his mission to bring Kim Tate down and secure Home Farm for him and his son, as well as Nicky's mother. The family are actually struggling with money, and Nicky's mother is at risk of being homeless as a result.
Now one fan of the soap has shared a wild theory about the possibility that Nicky's mother is actually Kerry and there's a sibling connection between her daughter Amy, with the viewer even suggesting Amy and Nicky could actually be twins.
One fan took to Twitter and suggested: "Do any of you think Caleb and Kerry had a relationship and Amy and Nicky are twins and Nicky’s 'mum' is actually his stepmum? @emmerdale #Emmerdale."
When another viewer questioned why they thought that, the original poster suggested it could make sense given that Kerry is currently away from the village following the passing of her boyfriend Al.
Kerry is actually away for the village to coincide with actress Laura Norton's maternity leave.
Actor Lewis Cope - who plays Nicky - revealed he had only arrived as a nanny, but soon his connection to Caleb was exposed.
" I thought I was coming in as a love interest to Gabby, it was further down the line I got the scripts and it started to reveal itself for me. It was a nice surprise as I wasn’t pre-empting anything, I could just look at what was on the script and make that work," he said.
William Ash - who plays Caleb - added: "It could be a bit of a burden for them both as there's a foot in both families. It's really clever that they’ve used that device to see how much disruption these characters can cause.
"There’s always been that clash between the Tates and the Dingles but it will really ramp it up now! It’s really big what Caleb and Nicky are attempting to do so there are a lot of fireworks ready to go off."
