The time for actress Sally Dexter to wave goodbye to her Faith Dingle character is fast approaching.
Sally took over as Faith back in 2017 and is known for bringing cheer and energy on screen but she will soon be bowing out from the ITV soap in emotional scenes. Earlier in the year the character was given the devastating news that her cancer was back - and this time it was terminal.
It has already been revealed that Sally's exit from the show and ultimately Faith's death is looming as the show prepares to kick off a whole month of drama to mark their 50th anniversary. Executive producer Jane Hudson said: "At the start of the month, we will be focusing on our Faith storyline, which is a huge storyline for us at the moment."

Sally has endeavoured to make the most of the time she has left with no treatment. But in recent weeks her health has taken a downward turn and this week, in heart-wrenching scenes, she decides to carry out her plan of taking her own life. She had previously confided in daughter-in-law Moira ask she asked for her help to carry out her final plan.
In the end, Moira tearfully agreed to go through with Faith's request for her to be with her at the end. However she decided against assisting her death.
This week's episodes will see Faith living her limited life to the fullest, surrounded by her family and friends. Being too ill to travel, the Dingles find a way to bring the seaside to her as they capture memories for a lifetime with plenty of pictures.
Later this week, on Thursday night's episode, Sally Dexter will deliver emotionally charged scenes as her time on the soap comes to a tragic end. Alone in her bedroom, Faith switches off her phone and takes one last look at the pictures from yesterday’s adventure as she prepares to end her days alone - But who will actually be by her side in her final moments?
Speaking about filming the end of her time at Emmerdale and Faith's death, Sally said: "I found it really quite poignant to film, I knew it meant Faith's time in Emmerdale was up, and so was mine… I have enjoyed being back.
"I will miss the laughter, the fabulous Yorkshire countryside and the skill, talent and dedication of the whole team of people I respect, admire and have huge affection for. I’m hugely sad that Faith can’t return. If you spot me on the street you might recognise me wearing a few items!"
She added: "I always knew Faith was coming back to die. My idea was to have her save Cain and Chas from some sort of attack in the Woolie - say from a bullet or a knife aimed at her children from a crazed intruder.
"I could picture her sliding down the side of the bar, with Cain and Chas declaring her a heroine. But the story Jane (Hudson) and the team wanted was a far more important and difficult one to tell. I only hope we have done as much justice as we could."
