Emmerdale viewers may have spotted a familiar face during last night's visit to rival ITV soap, Coronation Street. Friday's trip to the cobbles saw the arrival of a newcomer but soap fans may have seen him somewhere before.
Dave Fairchild arrived in Weatherfield last night, played by actor Luke Delaney but the soap star was previously a Yorkshire Dales resident. Newcomer, Dave, will play a part in Max Turner getting radicalised into a far right extremist group.
The hunky actor, who is also a body builder, is set to play a major part in the upcoming storyline. Back in 2020 Luke played a skilled masseuse on Sam Dingle's stag do, it was just a one episode stint and at the time the rising star posted to his social media: "Overwhelmed by the amount of support I’ve received off the back of my cameo in Emmerdale last night. Really appreciate everyone who took the time to watch, and those who have sent messages."

Luke is certainly well acquainted with soap land as he also starred in Hollyoaks last year, having played the soap villain who kidnapped Maxine Minniver. He has also appeared in BBC historical drama Peaky Blinders, alongside Cillian Murphy where he appeared as a police officer.
Luke took to his Instagram to announce his latest career move, posting a snap outside the iconic Rovers Return, he captioned the snap: "Looks like the news is out… Delighted to finally reveal that I’ve joined the cast of @CoronationStreet Get ready to meet ‘DAVE FAIRCHILD’ Starting tonight at 8pm on @ITV."
