Emmanuel Dennis provides cryptic response to Watford transfer question amid Everton links

Emmanuel Dennis has refused to rule out a move away from Watford this summer amid continued speculation linking him with a transfer to Everton.

Dennis has been linked with a move to Everton in recent weeks as Frank Lampard looks to freshen up his squad. The former Club Brugge star is under contract at Vicarage Road until June 2026.

The forward scored 10 times and claimed six assists in 35 games last season – his first campaign in English football. But that wasn’t enough to prevent Watford from being relegated to the Championship from the Premier League.

Rob Edwards' side kicked-off their Championship campaign with a 1-0 win over Sheffield United at Vicarage Road on Monday night, and speaking after the win, the Super Eagles star revealed that he is comfortable at Watford, but didn't rule out a move away.

He said: “I enjoy the game today(against Sheffield United), we won the game, so I’m happy. I’m still a player of the team so I just do my job and we’ll see what happens.”

Speaking ahead of the start of Watford’s season, the club’s sporting director, Cristiano Giaretta, revealed that Dennis will be allowed to leave the Hornets if a sizable offer arrives before the window shuts.

He said: “It’s highly likely that if they are here when the season starts, they will be available for first-team games if Rob [Edwards] chooses to select them.

“They would like to leave and have been looking at potential moves, but they are not causing us any problems. They are not banging on our door to get away as soon as they can.

“They will stay at the club if the market doesn’t deliver something we think is acceptable, in the same way Sarr stayed with us the last time we were in the Championship.”
