Held at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall and hosted by Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell, the newly rebranded ceremony – formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards – had its first-ever official dress code: ‘Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the Twenties and Thirties’.
It seemed celebrities had no problem interpreting the brief, showcasing liquid silks, sculptural tailoring and cinematic embellishment throughout the evening.
Emma Stone, 37, dazzled in a lilac-encrusted slip gown by Louis Vuitton, the delicate sparkle and matching bolero nodded to flapper-era beading, while the clean, elongated silhouette kept the look contemporary.
Jessie Buckley, who won the best female actor award for her role in Hamnet, opted for monochrome drama in Balenciaga.
The 36-year-old star’s gown featured asymmetrical shoulder draping, proving that old Hollywood references can feel simultaneously timeless and modern.
Metallics shimmered under the California lights courtesy of Taylor, 35, who wore a Thom Browne creation in gold and silver. The structured design celebrated the female form, amplified by decadent Tiffany & Co jewels that lent the ensemble a Gatsby-worthy finish.
Show-stopping theatrics also came from Demi Moore, 63, in Schiaparelli.
Her black gown featured a voluminous bustle hem adorned with playful polka dots. The exaggerated silhouette evoked silver-screen showgirls with a surrealist twist.
Elsewhere, Gwyneth Paltrow, 53, embodied refined elegance in a lace Givenchy gown by Sarah Burton. With its plunging V-neckline and a dropped waist, the look channelled vintage romance.
While black and white was the go-to for most celebrities, soft colours also cropped up on the carpet.
Kate Hudson, 46, looked radiant in a custom butter yellow Valentino gown featuring artful draping and ruched detail. The fluid fabric felt graceful, while statement diamonds by Emily Wheeler gave an eye-catching sparkle to the look.
Rose Byrne, 46, who was nominated for the best actress gong for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, turned heads in a snow-white embroidered silk crepe Chanel dress, with intricate silver embellishment.
Jenna Ortega, 23, followed suit, opting for a satin Christian Cowan slip gown with lace inserts, combining 1930s lingerie dressing with one of 2026’s biggest trends: coloured stockings.
Parker Posey, 57, brought her signature offbeat glamour to the carpet in Gucci, blending vintage inspiration with contemporary eccentricity.
Louis Vuitton was one of the dominant designers of the evening. Sinners star Wunmi Mosaku, 39, opted for the French fashion house, wearing a bold red gown with a sweetheart neckline and exaggerated flowing sleeves.
The men, too, rose to the challenge of the dress code. Timothee Chalamet, 30, who is known for bending red carpet rules, instead embraced pared-back Prada tailoring, sporting a white open-collared shirt and suit jacket with black suit trousers and shoes.
Michael B. Jordan, 39, who was named best male actor in a leading role for Sinners, delivered sleek sophistication in Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann, reaffirming that impeccably cut suiting remains a red carpet cornerstone.
Meanwhile, Paul Mescal, 30, also opted for a double breasted suit, wearing Saint Laurent with a neck scarf in place of a traditional tie.
Prada made another appearance on Adam Brody, 46, who injected a burst of colour with a sunny yellow shirt – a hue increasingly seen throughout awards season – proving that even subtle tonal tweaks can refresh classic suiting.
