It's regarded as one of the biggest car crash TV interviews of recent years. And now journalist Emily Maitlis has revealed how she felt "really sick" going into her BBC Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew.
In a new two-part Channel 4 documentary called Andrew: The Problem Prince - which Maitlis executive produced - she describes the run-up to grilling the Duke of York over his relationship with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. Indeed, so calamitous was the resulting tête-à-tête in November 2019 that the duke would afterwards step down from public life.
Maitlis explained the trepidation she felt as she made her way to the Buckingham Palace ballroom where the meeting had been due to take place. She said: "I arrived at the palace with my huge bag. I ended up wearing this sort of military-style jacket," reports the MEN.
